The problem I have is that I purchased the drive as a 640gig External Hard Drive with the intention of not sharing it with anyone. I really don't embrace technology that's over 10 years old and was replaced by a better system years ago.You are obviously in the know with this particular drive - My Passport Essential. Use what you want but I really don't see the point in using fat 32 unless you are using Windows 98 or god forbid '95. Did I forget to mention that data compression is also available with NTFS. NTFS supports dynamic cluster remapping for bad sectors and prevent them from being used in the future. Log files are created under NTFS which can be used for automatic file system repairs.
